USB Flash Stick Protection

Purpose:

The feature allows you to protect you USB flash stick, hard drive or any local drives against flash viruses.

Profit:

You will be sure that your flash stick will not be infected when you insert your flash stick to the infected computer or if you will print your photos in the photo service.

How to do it:

Open RegRun Start Control.

a) If you see RegRun Assistant, press Next button until "Protect" tab.

Click on the "Protect" button.

b) Otherwise choose "Reanimator" in the main menu.

Select "Protect" item in the sub-menu.

You will see the "Protection" window

Look at the "Unprotected drives" box.

All unprotected drives are already checked and you need only click on the "Protect" button.

After that you will see that the protected drives are moved to the "Protected drives" box.

That's all!

How to unprotect:

Open "Protect" window as described above.

Select all drives you want to protect by holding Shift and left mouse clicking.

Click on the Unprotect button.

How it works?

Protection feature creates the "autorun.inf", "desktop.ini", "comment.htt" folders in the root of the drive and puts the special file:

lpt3.Drive_is_protected_against_flash_viruses_by_RegRun

to each new folder.

The creation of the directory prevents the virus from creating the file with same name. The special name of the file makes it hard in deleting by a virus.

Is that protection bulletproof?

No. Probably newest viruses can break the protection but we are working with new protection technology.
