PDC_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT Windows 10 error causes BSOD

A recent Windows 10 update caused a mysterious BSOD error named PDC_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT to appear and to stop devices from boosting properly. The error seems to appear after devices are put into sleep mode. The problem has been reported for HP Envy x360, HP ProBook 650 G4, HP Elite x2 1012 G2, HP ProBook 650 G5, and HP EliteBook x360 1040 G6. It is not known why the error appears, but some claim that it might be caused by Trend Micro Apex (advanced automated threat detection) software and some blame the recent Windows update. Read more...
