Microsoft Probes OneDrive Search Glitch Affecting Multiple Platforms

Microsoft is currently investigating a widespread OneDrive issue that causes search results to appear blank or fail to return existing files for some users.

This glitch affects personal OneDrive accounts across various platforms, including Windows, Android, iOS, and the web. While the files remain accessible through direct navigation, they are missing from search results, and Microsoft has not yet identified a workaround or timeline for resolution.

The company acknowledged that the problem impacts only a subset of users and is working urgently with support teams to diagnose the root cause. In addition to the search malfunction, Microsoft is also looking into a separate iOS-specific bug where slow-motion videos play back at normal speed after being uploaded to OneDrive.

As a temporary fix, users are advised to share videos directly from the iOS gallery rather than relying on automatic uploads. Earlier in the year, Microsoft resolved a separate issue on macOS where OneDrive caused apps to freeze when opening or saving files on macOS 15 Sequoia.
