Anrdoid Banking Trojan Is Targeting Brazilian Organizations, Spreading via Fake Google Play

Threat actors are targeting Itaú Unibanco, a large financial services provider in Brazil with 55 million customers globally with an Android banking trojan, that is distributed via fake Google Play. Hackers have set up a page that looks very similar to the official Google Play to bait victims into thinking they are installing the app from the trusted source. The app that can be downloaded pretends to be the official banking app for Itaú Unibanco. After clicking "Install" users are asked to download APK, which is the sign of a scam, since Google Play apps are installed through the store interface, without the user having to install anything manually.
