Acer Hit By REvil Ransomware Attack, Hackers Demand Huge Ransom

Acer is a Taiwanese electronics and computer maker specializing in laptops, desktops, and monitors. The company has been hit by REvil ransomware with threat actors demanding the biggest known ransom of 50,000,000$. The ransomware gang has shared images of allegedly stolen files as proof of breaching Acer, with those images containing financial spreadsheets, bank balances, and bank communications. Acer's statement on the situation hasn't fully confirmed the breach, however, the company "reported recent abnormal situations" to relevant LEAs and DPAs. Read more...
