Attackers Impersonating Spotify, Microsoft Store To Spread Malware

In the recent cyberattack discovered by researchers from cybersecurity firm ESET attackers are actively promoting fake Microsoft Store and Spotify websites to steal passwords and credit cards. The attack is conducted using malicious ads promoting legitimate applications. Clicking one of those fake ads brings users to the fake Microsoft Store page for the fake application, which is actually a disguised malware called 'Ficker' or 'FickerStealer' - an information-stealing trojan released on Russian hacking forums in January.
