Google Chrome Introduces AI-Enhanced Security for Real-Time Protection

Google Chrome has upgraded its "Enhanced Protection" feature with AI to provide real-time security against malicious websites, downloads, and extensions.

After three months of testing in the Canary version, the AI-powered update has now been rolled out to all users on the stable Chrome channel.

While Enhanced Protection has been available for years as part of Safe Browsing, Google has now integrated AI to improve its ability to detect and warn users about threats more effectively.

Although Google hasn’t detailed the exact differences between the AI-enhanced and previous versions, it suggests that AI helps analyze patterns in real time to identify harmful sites, even those not previously flagged.

The new security feature also includes an advanced scan for suspicious downloads, adding another layer of protection for users.

However, Google notes that enabling Enhanced Protection involves sending browsing data to its servers for analysis.

The AI-powered security feature is disabled by default but can be activated through Settings > Security on Windows, Android, and iOS.
