Microsoft patches Microsoft Defender antivirus zero-day vulnerability
Microsoft Defender vulnerability, actively exploited in the wild by threat actors, has been patched by Microsoft. The vulnerability tracked as CVE-2021-1647 is an RCE (remote code execution) found in Malware Protection Engine component (mpengine.dll). Microsoft stated that the proof-of-concept exploit for the zero-day is available, however the exploration isn't possible on most systems due to the PoC failure. Read more...
