New Android Malware Disguises Itself As Fake Netflix Tool
Researchers at Check Point Research (CPR) have discovered the malware on Google's Play Store disguised as an app named FlixOnline, baiting users by promising free access to Netflix content. After the app is installed the malware starts a service that requests overlay, battery optimization ignore, and notification permissions. Then the malware will generate the overlays for any apps for stealing purposes and monitors WhatsApp messages to auto-reply with custom text payloads received from the command-and-control server.
