An NFT, or Non-Fungible Token, is data stored on a cryptocurrency blockchain that a digital certificate has signed to prove that it is unique and cannot be copied.
NFT gained popularity over the last year which resulted in known artists selling their digital arts in popular marketplaces such as Rarible.
According to cybersecurity company Bolster, threat actors use typosquatting domain names that impersonate the popular Rarible.com site but lead them to scams, malware, and other unwanted content.
Scammers are known to use Telegram, Whatsapp messages, social media posts to spread links to the typo squatted domains.
For example, domain wwwrarible[.]com without the period between www and rarible redirects users to the website pushing a fake Firefox update on visitors.
