Ransomware Gang Used Old VPN Device To Breach Capcom Network

Capcom has disclosed the details on the investigation of the ransomware attack the company suffered last year. Threat actor hit Capcom with Ragnar Locker ransomware, stole sensitive data, encrypted company's devices, and demanded 1,000,000$ ransom in exchange for decryption tool and not publishing the stolen data. Yesterday Capcom has completed the investigation and stated that attackers gained access to their network by targeting an old VPN backup device located at the company’s North American subsidiary in California.
