Vietnamese government-backed hackers are linked to crypto-mining malware campaigns

Vietnamese hacker group tracked as Bismuth, better known as APT32 and OceanLotus, has increased its activity and made some changes to the tactics, according to Microsoft. The group deployed Monero coin miners, targeting French and Vietnamese government institutions. The reasoning for the strategy change is unknown, but it is possible that the hacker groups operating from the countries that don't have extradition treaties with the US feel like their actions won't have any consequences.
