Microsoft’s KB5058499 preview update for Windows 11 version 24H2 introduces 48 new features and improvements, with many rolling out gradually.
Key additions include the enhanced Click to Do feature, allowing users to highlight text or images and interact with Microsoft Copilot for summarization, rewriting, or list generation.
This tool now supports more languages and regions, especially within the European Economic Area, and offers greater accessibility for pen-enabled devices. Another major feature, Windows Share, enables users to drag files directly into apps, make quick image edits before sharing, and access sharing options from the right-click menu.
Additional enhancements include improved voice access, smarter Windows Search, and cross-device resume capabilities for OneDrive documents. IT administrators gain more control through Energy Saver policies and taskbar customization options, while users benefit from better HDR and Dolby Vision management.
Accessibility also improves with AI-powered image descriptions via Narrator. Alongside new features, Microsoft resolved a wide range of bugs affecting input methods, printing, file explorer, display scaling, and more.
Although most issues are fixed, a known problem persists where CJK fonts may appear blurry at 96 DPI in Chromium-based browsers. Users are advised to temporarily switch display scaling to 125% or 150% to improve clarity.
