When you call the Smart Notes by hot key or mouse the Smart Notes engine gets the name of the current application and name of the current document, try to find the appropriate item in the Smart Notes data and display the text note if the item was found. If the item does not exist, the Smart Notes engine creates the new item and save this item automatically if user enters some new text.

The Smart Notes names the items automatically using the data obtained from the application version information and the application window caption, but you can change it, for instance, the "Greatis Toys" can be renamed to "Toys", so, for instance, any document with "toys" in the name will be linked with this renamed item.

The Smart Notes has additional "My Notes" item that can be used for storing any hierarchical text notes.
