South Korea's 'Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute Hacked Using VPN Vulnerability
South Korea's 'Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute' disclosed yesterday that their internal networks were hacked last month by North Korean threat actors using a VPN vulnerability. Initially, the breach was denied by KAERI, but yesterday KAERI released a statement confirming the attack and attempting to cover up the incident. According to KAERI, their network has been breached using VPN vulnerability. According to access logs, thirteen different unauthorized IP addresses gained access to the internal network through the VPN, with one of the addresses being linked to a North Korean state-sponsored hacking group known as 'Kimsuky'.
