Cybersecurity Researcher Finds A Way To Bypass Lock Screen On Android Phone

Cybersecurity researcher David Schütz accidentally found a way to bypass the lock screen on his up-to-date Google Pixel 6 and 5 smartphones without any extra capabilities other than having physical access to the phone. The researcher said, that he entered the PIN wrong three times after his phone ran out of battery, then recovered his SIM card using the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code, which allowed him to set up a new PIN for the phone, and the device never asked for the lock screen password but only requested a fingerprint scan.
