This is a little confusing since I discovered safebrowse.io is a "safe search" or redirect "service" used by my ISP, Xfinity. These things are very annoying but not usually a threat to your computer. This one, however is rumored to install a miner that runs in the background undetected. It blocks completely legitimate websites with a warning page that says the website is unsafe. While I haven't experienced any pop-ups, the "Proceed" button just refreshes the page with the warning. It's my understanding that I have to disable the safebrowse feature somewhere in my account but I can't find anything like that in my account. and calling Xfinity hasn't gotten me anywhwere. So now I'm wondering if you have any more information about safebrowse.io as being used by the ISP? BTW, I'm on a Chromebook, not a Windows pc.
