If you trust a file, folder, or process that Windows Security has detected as malicious, you can stop Windows Security from alerting you or blocking the program by adding the file to the exclusions list.

  1. Open the Windows Security app in Windows.
  2. Click on Virus & threat protection.
  3. Scroll down and click on the Manage settings.
  4. Scroll down and click on the Add or remove exclusions.
  5. Click on the Add an exclusion and select that you want to add.

    File:

  6. Click on File in the dropdown menu.
  7. Go to and select a file (For example: "FastStone Capture")
  8. Click on Open and close the Settings.

Folder:

  1. Click on Folder in the dropdown menu.
  2. Go to and select a folder ((For example: "Desktop Backgrounds").
  3. Click on Select Folder and close the Settings.

Process:

  1. Click on Process in the dropdown menu.
  2. Type a process name (ex: "SecHealthUI.exe").
  3. Click on Add and close the Settings.
