EvilCorp Hacking Group Renaming Their Ransomware Operations To Avoid US Sanctions

EvilCorp gang has been rebranding to avoid the sanctions imposed by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). EvilCorp got sanctioned in 2019, resulting in ransomware negotiation firms refusing to facilitate ransom payments for Evil Corp attacks to avoid facing fines or legal action from the Treasury Department.
