US Has Recovered The Majority Of The Ransomware Payment Paid By Colonial Pipeline To DarkSide Operation

DarkSide ransomware attack that happened this May forced the gas company Colonial Pipeline to shut down their operation causing gas shortages on the east coast. Colonial Pipeline has paid the $4.4 million ransom to receive the decryption key to bring their system back online. In a Justice Department press conference, the US Department of Justice announced today that seized a cryptocurrency wallet used by DarkSide ransomware that contained the ransom payment from Colonial Pipeline.
